Running

I started running as a way to get fit and feel better about myself. I like to run after work either by myself or within a weekly running class to keep myself motivated. I am rather blessed to live within an area that has easy access to routes appropriate for running.  I mainly run throughout the lighter months of the year as I enjoy the scenic routes (as there's always time for a quick break for photographs!) but also to get me in the mood for the upcoming summer months.

I surprised myself with how much better I feel after a run and feel proud of myself with sticking to my running routine. I think it's important to break away with what you're doing throughout the day to do something that's incredibly positive both physically and mentally. I do not claim to be a hard core runner- but a simple 5k a couple times a week is enough to keep me feeling fit and focused.

Throughout the year, I do enjoy taking part in racing competitions for fun, I enjoy the atmosphere and running with others. Running is a great community to be apart of, especially if you feel the same way as I do about it! This year, I am down to be running a couple colour runs and the Simply Health Great North Run... So I better pick up my miles and get practising.
